Cost: $150 - Free for YSCTC Classified and Local Solutions Grant Participants. 
Understanding what's written in an IEP and how to structure an IEP meeting can be challenging for new teachers in Special Education.  This Academy helps participants learn the basics of navigating IEPs, including how to read an IEP and understand and measure IEP goals.  At the end of this academy,  participants will be more prepared to run IEP meetings and more confident in their understanding of written IEPs. 
As a result of this academy, participants will be able to:
  • Know and understand the written structure of IEPs
  • Understand and measure IEP goals
  • Understand related services and develop a plan for collaborating with service providers, including general education teachers
  • Understand how to structure IEP meetings and the legal requirements for IEP meeting
