Preliminary CTE Credential Application Process
The Preliminary Application Process and Timeline are as follows:
- Have a Preliminary Advisement Meeting with our Program Manager or Director.
- Gather all qualifying materials on the Preliminary Checklist and submit for review.
- Review of uploaded materials takes place approximately 1-3 weeks after the submission of ALL materials on the Preliminary Checklist.
- Candidate is notified of CTE Review outcomes.
- If candidate's application is complete and qualified, application will be put into the cue for recommendation to the Commission on Teacher Credentialing (approximately 2 weeks to complete recommendation).
- If candidate's application is NOT complete, next steps will be communicated to the candidate.
- Clear Program Advisement Meeting with Program Director.
- Begin Clear Program.

The primary Commission for Teaching Credentials document available online and is the most comprehensive information guide. This is purely for your reference and informs you as to what is required for both the preliminary and clear credential. |

A document from our program that lists the documents needed for your application. As the Program Sponsor, our office is the authorized submitter of Preliminary CTE Credential applications. This checklist ensures we have all the materials necessary to review your qualifications for the credential, and make a recommendation to the commission on your behalf. |

The application for the Commission. This needs to be filled out and submitted with your other Preliminary materials. Beginning on Page 6 of the PDF linked to the left, you will fill out sections 1, 4, 6, 7, and 9. We will be able to complete the rest in our office or during advisement. |

This document will clearly outline what information is needed in experience verification letters from employers. This is used along with your resume, and is usually the heaviest lift for the qualified candidate. |

To complete the requirements for the preliminary credential, our program is primarily structured around you teaching in k-12 education within the context of one of the CTE Industry Sector authorizations on your Preliminary CTE Credential. Your employing school/district will fill this form out for you, and needs to verify FTE (Full-Time Teaching Equivalent) allocated to CTE courses. |
Scheduling
Meetings for information or consultation in regard to CTE Credentialing can be done by scheduling a video conference or phone call. We will not be holding any general office hours or information sessions at this time.
