Teach now. Get certified as you go.
Start teaching in a Yolo or Solano County classroom as the teacher of record on an intern teacher credential while you complete an accredited path to your preliminary credential — supported by a cohort that stays with you for two years.
Congratulations to our class of 2026.
An alternative path into the classroom
The Intern Program is an alternative certification pathway for people who want to teach. As part of a consortium of local school districts, we support area schools in addressing the teacher shortage in identified credential areas across Yolo and Solano Counties, and nearby counties as needed.
Intern teachers are employed as the teacher of record while attending accredited coursework in a blended format — in person at our Davis learning space and online — with support from course instructors, field supervisors, and cohort peers throughout.
The program was the best thing I have ever done. Thank you for creating a path for people who want to teach but need to work while taking classes. It changed my life.Lynette CapelKindergarten teacher, Washington Unified School District — class of 2024
